Parliamentary Elections 2009 | Rising Star zu Guttenberg

Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg has been Germany's economics minister for six months and he's already ahead of Chancellor Angela Merkel in the popularity ratings. A surprising development,considering his policies aren't always so popular,such as his opposition to government rescue packages for ailing companies.
But depending on how the Christian Democrats and his own party the Christian Social Union of Bavaria fare in the federal elections in September,he looks set to become an even more prominent player on Germany's political landscape.

@jonathanmoreno1000 Well I'm thinking of running for... KING. Give me 8 years, when I'm finished, all will be set right again. Upon completion of the program to stuff the gov't back in its box, we go back to the constitutional system. (Under my kingship, all rights will be preserved.) Education will be first reformed: no more politically correct (stupid) courses. A spade is a spade. Opportunities will explode, after I make this country THE place to do business. And we'll pump our OWN oil.

What kind of softball interview questions are those? Is this the DW or GQ? This is not reporting, it's gushing. Who cares what his family tradition is? It doesn't imply personal integrity. We've had many great politicians who came from humblest background over the years, I thought we as a society were above this whole glamour politics thing. Still, has to be said, Guttenberg did a very good job as economics minister and is doing a fine one at the defence ministry. Good luck to him and DE.
