From a VH1 show, before he had named it. Tuning D2A2D3G3A3D4. Michael on a parlor guitar. Sent to me by FusionArtist101 (http://www.youtube.com/user/FusionArtist101) See http://www.nomadland.com/ for information on Hedges and a fund for his children.

  • tuning is ''"D3 A3 D4 G4 A3 D4'' not ''D2 A2 D3 G3 A3 D4''

  • @rogiermusic I'm just listing the tuning as it's noted by the Stropes website. I guess it makes sense it might be an octave up on the parlor guitar, but I don't have any other verification.

  • keep in mind folks, that this was when

Vh1 was cool..... now everything on music channels is complete crap these days, and often doesn't have anything to do with music.... very sad.

  • This footage is priceless! It's too good to be true... Thanks for uploading it Type3.

  • inspirational!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love all his music . thank you for sharing this one.

  • A small guitar for a big man...Michael's music is awesome: many thanks for sharing it with us type 3

  • I saw this years ago as part of the VH1 "Montage", but never got to see the whole tune, only about twenty or thirty seconds of it. I wrote to VH1 about ten years later inquiring if that particular program where Hedges was featured guest/host, to no avail.

I am thrilled that you put this up in its entirety!

Today, it is Qing Ming Festival in China, I'm an American anthropologist here, and this festival is all about remembering those who have passed: I remember Michael Hedges.

  • Hey man, ty so much for uploading this. This song is just incredible...

  • @rogiermusic So the 4th and 1st string are in the same octave? They are both D4? I am watching this video and I can tell you that is NOT the case.

  • as all hedges pieces and type3 posts, truly excellent.

  • It's amazing to hear how full it sounds even though it's so small. The slap harmonics sound wonderful. Even the artificial harmonics.
