In this video I've connected my 400 watt Honda generator to my solar charge controller. This prevents the battery from being overcharged and regulates the DC output from the generator.
Hello, nice set up! I have a nearly identical set-up. I also bring a Honda EU2000 for "emergency" power if the sun isn't shining. I never thought of using the DC feature to run through my charge controller. That would suppy 8.3 amps. Wouldn't just running a standard, lets say 10 amp charger from the AC side be even better? Thanks in adavance, Jason
Thanks for the run down. I'll be doing the same now but using a EM500. I'm sure they are similar. Love those old and under valued work horses.
