I'm reading a letter from an attorney/client of a photographer (Nelson Tang) who did a great job on their wedding (I've seen the images myself). Still, they are threatening this photographer with menacing words like, "Jury Trial, Jail!, You will be ruined!, I will sue your wife!" This is from an attorney! Anyway, this is my commentary.

And here's images from the letter: http://soyouwanttobearockstarphotogra...

Nelson Tang aggressively fought the case with the assistance of the photo community and help from my attorney friends. The couple dropped the case during the discovery phase. The left empty-handed.

Is the lawyer's name Saul Goodman, by chance?

This "lawyer" is what I call your typical ambulance chaser, at best, is a paralegal. With his "Ooh, look at my knowledge of the law" bullying tactics, shows his incompetence. Posting so many pics to a social media site isn't the smartest move either. But,as you say, one leaves themselves open to such frivolous lawsuits when one doesn't have a contract. "Always get it in writing" my Dad used to say. My Mom would would say, "Say it with flowers, say it with mink, but never ever put it in ink!" lol

Not totally empty handed - they have some (what sound like) decent wedding photos and a bit of bad karma. Any follow up from the bar about the lawyers initial threatening letter?

This Attorney should be disbarred. What ever happened to ethics. Attorneys like that give Attorneys who are good attorneys and help people and do not take advantage of people a bad name. If he sues you, file a counterclaim and sue him. I am sure he would like the letter presented as evidence, a judge will refer him to the the liscensing agency for investgation. I am sure if the firm knew this they would fire him. Only one word to describe an individual such as this SCUM.

how would this even be allowed to go to court . I can see if maybe the photographer accepted money before the wedding and never showed up, but I know in the state of Georgia it would be independent contractor vs employee . The judge would look at things like who had insurance and business liscenses and to the reason why the people chose the photographer in the first place. No way these people would win though. I would counter sue them in a statement saying here is a taste of your own medicine
