I played this same version and the tempo on this song is 160 on this music. so it is slower in this version than what is originally played

a suggestion is to play it faster, but on the second time through, when it hits the melody at pickups to measure 16, trumpets play it at the regular octave the first half, and the second half at pickups to measure 20, play it up an octave. it changes it up some. also you can have the first trumpet slide on the last note from a G above the staff to a B above the staff. just a few notes. that is what i did this year and last year. we play this same arrangement in my jazz band every concert. :)
