i find knowing englic is decent for understanding few other germanic dialects of today . like some from northren germany, northren denmark,and se netherlands . though frisian is se closest living realitive to elder englisc, as once our languages were se same, and we could understand each other with no problems, but in years of seperation a language changes due to influences from other cultures, and language shifts and natural evolution i beliefe . thank you for refrences i shall use
