using just a diode(1n4007)for example you can prevent chips from getting burned!

And it costs 0.02usd or euro!

What's wrong with manufacturers?

At least the should use a socket for the i.c. so that you could swap it easily!

I happen to enjoy my Carvin Products quite a bit. I have never had any problems with my Carvin equipment, but I have heard stories from others. I like joy Carvin Basses as much or better than any of my other basses, including Spector, ZON, MTD, Fender, MM, and Ibanez. I don't know why people seem to be all car vin or no carvin though. I like their gear as well as many other brands as well. The prices are good and mine at least have always been well built.

Carvin basses are overhyped pieces of shit. Terrible design, terrible electronics, and terrible reliability. Having owned several before I learned my lesson I experienced the same issues on both. Both suffered from warped necks and failed electronics. Every time I see them locally I just kringe at the thought of all that money I threw at that company. All those reviews about how great they are come from people who dont know great instruments. And how custom is a bass made by a computer?
