"Founded in 2003 by award winning actress, director and producer Goldie Hawn, The Hawn Foundation is dedicated to supporting children by advancing mindfulness training in educational and community-based settings." In this interview, Dan Siegel describes the fundamentals behind mirror neurons, mindfulness and how we can begin to shape behavior through mindful practice.
This video is fascinating! There's really a lot here to digest. Thank you Dr. Siegal!

@dudi137 I reread my comment and deleted it. I guess what I was trying to say was that I really enjoy it when he does heavily talk about the science of it all first. That is just a personal preference. I just happened to be kind of grumpy at the time I wrote my now deleted comment. The style he uses in this video is unique and I can see how he uses different approaches to reach different types of audiences. So right on. Thanks for the responses.

I don't understand. Is discussion of compassion and gratitude not up front? Do you really think that we can only discuss virtues after we address their material/neuro processes? As he said, all cultures of the world have understood mindfulness, long before we had the neuroscientific tools to discuss brain plasticity. He is speaking from careful human observation and not just using empty buzzwords.

I don't see anything wrong with his "touchiness" as it is sincere and comes off as compassion in the hope for joy of others
