Feeling opressed? So are millions of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) students all around our nation. In fact, four out of five LGBT students experience harassment at school. That's why there's the Day of Silence. On April 25th, students on campuses all around the nation will not speak to call attention to the oppression and cruelty experienced by LBGT people. You can help draw attention to this issue and show your support by participating in the National Day of Silence April 25th.

This event is in no way "condoning" or "celebrating" homosexuality. It is merely a manifestation of our school's mission to create a positive, safe environment for all students. We want everyone on our campus to feel safe, yet according to several studies the majority of harassment in schools is based on a student's actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender expression.

Students at Saguaro High School in Arizona made this video to promote the day at their school.

  • No one's asking you to listen to homosexuals, we're just asking you to leave them alone. BTW fag means cigarette.

  • I love this <3 :]

  • Because im stronger than i use to be, thank you for this video :)

  • Just because a man wears dresses doesn't mean he's transgender.

  • Uhh... you hate gay guys because because they have parades, and kiss? Don't you realize straight people do that too? And gay guys who dress like the opposite sex are transgenders, meaning they are confused about there gender. Lrn2research

  • This is a really powerful video.

    I love it! Can't wait

  • Wow. Your a total douche. Day of Silence represents our want and need for equal rights. Last years was dedicated to a boy that got killed, but that isn't the point. Stop being so damn homophobic and learn to accept ppl around bc everyone is different.

  • this is really good! this is such a great cause! i'm exited to participate.
