ServiceNation Cleveland style...a big collaborative effort to revitalize parts of the Glenville neighborhood.
I thought I was on the different street. This is the comment a young women made getting off the bus after volunteers transformed her street in the Glenville neighborhood on Saturday, September 27 as part of the national ServiceNation Day of Action hosted by Hands On Northeast Ohio and the Glenville Development Corporation. Volunteers mowed lawns, trimmed bushes, planted flowers, cleaned up trash and debris at 40 homes on the street where Superman was born on Kimberly Avenue in Glenville, Ohio. Volunteers from Sherwin Williams also painted hallways and a classroom at a local elementary school, Charles Lake Elementary. Finally, volunteers also tutored 6th grade students at Entrepreneurship Preparatory School, an innovative charter school sponsored by the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Over 100 people volunteer on Saturday in conjunction with this day.
