In my English class my teacher said, "Has anyone heard of Fred Phelps?" And I slam my hands on my desk and say, "He is a sick man!"
...I was the only one who knew who he was.
then my teacher and i went on to explain who he was.

They live/lived in the city that I have lived in for years...I had family members that went to school with the kids...Phelps is psychotic. I hope they moved. On the other hand...I wouldnt wish their presence upon anyone. If they moved to your town...sorry. lol

Those wierdos showed up in a town 20 miles west of me. They came to protest the funeral of a local soldier that was killed in Iraq. They had signs saying God hates fags. Luckily a bunch of bikers were there to keep it calm.

I'm glad Mary B was here though I never got the chance to bump into her. Her presence in the same 20 mile radius was very nice. You both need to come together one day, or i'll just run into you on your side of town.
Glad to hear the protest went swell, suprised it was peaceful. It just shows we have our fight but we don't need violence to prove it.
I'm glad Mary B made it home safe.

We had a group like that come to my local high school (East Providence High in Rhode Island) around may i think because we had a GSA and we were a gay-friendly school. Just like yours, the counter-protest over powered theirs because the whole city came together with from faculty and staff, present to former students and even the school committee which shocked me the most. We peacefully won ^_^

im actually quite jealous of you for being able to go there and fight for ur rights cuz to be honest it actually sounds pretty fun lol :)
except it wont be so easy to do in my country sadly we have more haters than supporters, i hate it when people use religion to justify hate :( but im sure that we will one day have equal rights maybe not in my lifetime but one day :D
