Kim Guadagno, Monmouth County Sheriff, is set to become New Jersey's first Lieutenant Governor. The position was created to ensure more stability in case the state's governor is unable to serve -- and follows former Gov. James McGreevey's 2004 resignation, after which the Senate president served as fill-in governor for more than a year.
