the problem is that the governing body is called FIFA - translated as Federation International Football Associations - it is not called FISA, therefore, by design of the governing body it should not be called soccer. Would the Americans like it if people called baseball rounders, or basketball, netball ? I don't think so! And I love the concept of a world series where only clubs in the US of A compete. Only in insular America could you get that.
