FAQs:
Q: Where can I buy one of those kicking dummies?
A: You can buy a Body Opponent Bag (B.O.B.) by going here:
http://www.centurymartialarts.com/Training_Bags/Body_Opponent_Bag.aspx?pmc=Af...

Q: What is in the base of the B.O.B./Bag?
A: It is filled with around 270lbs of all-purpose sand.

Q: What stretches are best for this kick?
A: This kick requires moderate front splits flexibility. You do not have to have a full front split to execute this kick effectively, but the more front split flexibility you have, the easier it is to perform this kick.

Q: Is rechambering important with this kick?
A: Rechambering is not nearly as important as the chamber to. When fighters focus too much on rechambering, they end up pulling their strikes before they delivered their full amount of force. If you focus on the important parts: the chamber to and the follow through, you will have powerful kicks. You won't have "flicky" strikes like those who focus on rechambering because it's "prettier", or because they claim it adds power, which it doesn't. It helps prevent leg catches in certain circumstances. That's it.

Q: What part of the foot do I hit with?
A: You strike with the bottom or outer knife edge of the heel. Your toes will often angle out off to the side of your target and may hit during or immediately after your heel makes contact. After you have delivered the bulk of the force with the heel, you can use the rest of your foot to push off of your target to help recoil your leg back into place. Just remember to make sure you aim with the heel and deliver the bulk of the force with the heel, not the with the ball or toes.

Q: Why am I wearing kickboxing shorts and not a dobok?
A: Multiple reasons. Because I train specifically for kickboxing style competition (I retired from Olympic sparring in 06'), and because it's easier to see the position of my legs in shorts, as opposed to a baggy dobok.
