My favourite 60s band and I`m 23 :)))) Born in `88

Come on, guys! This is what a rock/pop band should be. The Byrds were absolutely great. And when they decided to mix Dylan's songs with thier own brand of electic phsycodelic rock, it made for a completely different type of music. What a great band. I played that Mr. Tamborine Album so much, the scratches had scratehes on them.

....love this song. When I die, hope I wake up in go go dancer heaven.

I'll probably never love another song as much as I love this one - probably!
-
@jestrang Never thought of that. Good point.

Definitely live vocals here because you can hear Crosby say 'Whoa!' as the solo begins. Gene's accent comes out, too, with loads of expression in his voice.

@darling67 I often see you posting on this and other Byrds tunes, and I've probably answered a post of yours about this song, but I thought I was the only person in the world who though this was the greatest song ever. Other people I played this to in the 80's was like ho hum. I cant understand it but thanks to youtube I'm know I'm not he only one!

Some of the sexiest dancers around. I wish we had them today.

Born in '58, and was just a kid when this came out. But I remember the false eyelashes, the wig-lets, the Go-Go boots, the dancers (man, do I remember the dancers!). Keep in mind, it wasn't all like this. We waded through a lot of AM radio musical GARBAGE in the 60's and 70's to get to The Beatles, Beach Boys , The Association and The Byrds!!!

Probably the greatest use of the word probably ever in the history of PoP Music, and Gene isn't probably the Greatest western pop musical lorist he IS!

Sounds as though the vocals are live but the instrumental is from the album. Still, this is proof of what a terrific singer Gene Clark was, and how good the original group could sound when at their best.
