Man was created in order to have a share in God's Eternal Life, thus man can know his Creator. God is perfectly good, but sin separates man from God. Since God is an infinite being and man is a finite creature, an infinite reparation is necessary to reconcile man to God. Thus God became man (Jesus Christ) and made atonement for our sins. Salvation is a gift for those who seek God. Hell is a built-in consequence, much like blindness is the natural consequence for plucking one's own eyes out.

@adrianRK You're taking it all too literally, as many Christians already do. Like parables and fables meant to tell stories that guide others, that's all this really is. Learn from the stories, consider the lessons, and always remember that there is more than one way to look at life- meaning consider other forms of guidance such as Buddhism...

Truth is real, but it cannot contradict itself. Therefore not all religions can be true. Buddhism was spawned by a man attempting to escape the Hindu myths of reincarnation. Of all those claiming to come from God only Jesus Christ was pre-announced. His life fulfilled hundreds of prophecies and he proved his claim with miracles. His resurrection was witnessed, and his apostles died torturous deaths for refusing to deny what they witnessed. But miracles continue, even today.
