A short piece of film showing as it is today one of the ten end title cards from CAPTAIN SCARLET AND THE MYSTERONS. Painted by TV Century 21 legend Ron Embleton this stunning piece of art was commissioned by Century 21 Productions to be used as closing title artwork for the show itself. The ten images showing Scarlet in situations of danger and jeopardy have become forever imprinted upon the memories of generations of television viewers who grew up watching this classic series. It was bought at auction in 2002 after Reg Hill, one of the directors of Century 21, passed away. Of the nine other paintings only two appeared to have gone into the hands of recognised Anderson collectors so the whereabouts of the remaining seven is unknown (Unless anyone can comment here of course) The film here is more a chance for fans to see that at least one is in the hands of a fan of the show and of course an admirer of Embleton's gorgeous work. Thanks for watching!

  • Thanks for the comments guys! The auction had many classic Anderson TV related toys, Dinky Anderson prototypes, replica models and puppets and then the Reg Hill Collection. This included many photographs and pieces of documentation too but the key pieces were the end title paintings and the FIREBALL XL5 publicity brochure which included Reg Hill and Derek Meddings original art mounted throughout. A truly stunning item easy equalling the Embleton stuff in terms of historic Anderson memorabilia.

  • Fantastic piece Mart. Deep down I think I still regret deciding to miss the auction!

  • this is tv memorabillia gold,so nice to have something from the actual show.what else was available at the auction?

  • Nice film again Mart!

As you say, a true fan is looking after this now---- you just cannot overstate how unbelievably good Ron Embleton's work is when seen close up----how could anyone paint that good????

  • I was at that auction, and great to know this painting ended up in good hands. The colour in Embleton's artwork is still vibrant and dynamic. Thanks for sharing.

  • Lovely painting there, nice to know that it's being looked after - oddly my favourite is the one on the cover of the booklet, Scarlet buried under the rocks trying to reach the explosives, which is actually a bit boring compared to some of the more action pictures like the snakes, sharks or this one.
