  • The only time I saw Wally Lewis was in 1961, he was playing Bass with a Country Band in Tacoma, WA. The Steel players was Dusty Rhodes, Rollie Weber was the lead singer. The club was the Brittannica on Pacific Ave. in Tacoma. I requested he sing some of the songs that he previously recorded, bur he never would, he said that the band did not know them. The Brittannica Cabaret was the place that Buck Owens sing and play at in 1959.

Thank you very much for your comment.

  • This is my great uncle! I love hearing his music still!! He was a very talented man!

Welcome and thank you for your reaction.

Indeed, he was a very talented man, I have posted 3 other songs of your Great Uncle.

  • In 1958 Wally Lewis released two versions of this record. The original was just his voice with instrumentation, the second was this record with backgroung singers. Surprisingly enough the record made Billboards Top 100 and was among the first Country and Western style records to be played on WIBG the largest and most popular record station, at that time, in the Delaware Valley Area.

At 65 I sill remember it well. Ron
