Apollo EECOM: Journey of a lifetime available at http://tinyurl.com/ApolloEECOM

12:02 is when the interview with Sy starts

Sy Liebergot was the EECOM on duty when Apollo 13 called out 'Houston, We've Had a Problem". From that moment forward all eyes were on Sy to figure out what had happened to the crippled CSM. EECOM stands for Electrical, Environmental and Consumables Manager which means Sy was right in the thick of the problem!

  • ...that has to be the best disclaimer I've ever read.

  • @youvebeenthunderstru Heh, well most people don't read it. Glad you liked it, we had fun!

  • I gotta say thanks to the spacevidcast group for not cutting Sy off. Great to listen to his input and experiences.

  • Our pleasure! I mean, how could we cut that interview short?!? Normally we complain about being an Internet only show, but in this case it worked to our advantage.

  • whats with the rubbish quality this week normally its brilliant quality

  • Due to the seriously long show the HQ encodes will take YouTube a lot longer to produce. Even when they do get created I had to dumb the bitrate down to get the show to fit within the required 1GB file size so it won't be as high as normal. The video is still being processed by YouTube though, stop back in 24 hours for the HQ version and 48 for the HD version. I think YouTube will be done by then.

  • There is way too much sugar-high cheer and high jinks attitude in this video which is not only irritating in itself but it wastes viewers’ time! We don’t need to be sweetened and entertained — just cut to the chase (12:02!). I’m just sitting here feeling myself getting older by the second and wondering, “When will we ever get going, here?”

Lose one presenter. All this interaction is unnecessary. Lose the chat text flow at the bottom of the screen, as well — it contains useless junk.

  • Great interview must have been really scarey when Jim Lovell said Houston the Side blew out or we have a problem. Good information.

  • Great Show this week. Really enjoyed listening to Sy and his experiences. Keep up the great work

  • i love your videos. great content and great personalizes. keep up the great work.

  • oh thanks, just wondered it was a brilliant show, you can tell sy does lectures he had a wonderful manner about him, and it was very interesting probably the best show you guys have done. I think his views on the future of space flight seem to hit the nail on the head, which is ashame, they give banks billions nasa gets little in comparison .considering everyones future is in space, there needs to be more press about it, thats where i think private space will come into it, it will take longertho
