This is a MIDI cover of a great Metallica tune. Vst`s used for this were Ministry of Rock, Addictive Drums & Amplitube2. I did the vocals ..I realize i`m no Hetfield but i`m happier with the way they turned out than i thought i was gonna be(but there are some rough spots LOL).

  • Good job, dude.

  • @tommykicksass Thanks, man!!!!!!!!!

  • Your voice sounds pretty good. And I know about MOR. It's pretty good, and you do hear the quality of it, but the way it's mixed is a bit...I don't know, maybe it's Youtube's downmixing, because apart from the singing, the rest sounds so...dry...flat. Or is that the intention? I know the album is a bit notorious for its awkward mastering.

  • Cheers man, It was my intention to leave everything dry...but i`m realizing now i`ll probably have to use a little Mastering Reverb. I`m always gettin in trouble for too much reverb..but my covers are normally 80`s tunes..if you know what i mean..

  • You're the guy from the East West forums!!! Nice to see you here. I'm so excited in getting MOR. I won't be disappointed, I guess.

  • Yes i am...and you definately won`t be dissapointed.

  • Sounds good, but you could do better job at balancing instrument volumes ^.^

  • Thanks man, someday i`ll go back and redoe this.

  • Hey man! for someone working with plugins only, you did a good job and almost sure it took you some time... it's good but if you accept some suggestions i would try to dry a little bit the kick of drums it's 'saturated' and regarding vocals, i think would be good if you use some plugin to let found sound like talking phone or similar and try to keep it in fair volume compared with other instruments, presently it's too laud. I'm starting with sonar 8, so far it's being an amazing tool. Good Luck!

  • @fwe4life and i`ll check on you to see if you`ve actually learned how to play guitar by then. Seems like a deal to me.
