No-fly zone over Arroyo's route during transfer

MANILA, Philippines - Officials of the interior and defense departments, the police, military, the prisons bureau, and the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) met at Camp Crame Friday to discuss the hospital transfer of former President Gloria Arroyo.

Arroyo is set to be moved from St. Luke's Medical Center in Taguig to the VMMC in Quezon City on or before December 6.

Task Force FPGMA will take care of the security arrangements for the former President's transfer and hospital stay.

"Southern Police District will take charge of the transfer from St. Luke's up to the area of responsibility along EDSA, C5... tapos EPD [Eastern Police District] will secure area to be taken by CGMA and will turn over security to QCPD [Quezon City Police District," said Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz.

The PNP has also asked the Civil Aviation Authority for a no-fly zone over the route of the Arroyo convoy on the day of her transfer.




The VMMC will have tight security from its gate up to the presidential suite.

Authorities are preparing walk-through security panels and they might also place CCTV cameras in the hospital.

Arroyo's visitors have to surrender their cellphones.

"Wala po tayo nadiscuss na threats. Wala po tayo validation hingil sa threat. Sa tingin po natin sufficient ang inilatag natin na security measure," Cruz said. - ANC

They have all the power to reject of all the cases of Gloria Arroyos' Family. It's time now to give our moral and general support to DOJ and not the decision of the Supreme Court. Ipawalang-bisa lahat ang kaso ng mga Arroyo sa Supreme Court!!!! Just watch!!! Paano natin makamtan ang pagbabago sa ating bansa kung marami pa rin ang mga buwaya sa puesto!!!!
