    What do you think of that Alton Brown method of making the roux in the oven. Is that non-union? I tried it and it worked with a cast iron dutch oven, but I am a lazy yankee who don't know no better.

  • I've done the oven method too on past videos, It works just fine. But you still have to add oil & get the roux hot so when adding the trinity it cooks the veggies & flavors the roux

  • How much did those two robots set you back? I'm thinkin about getting one that vaccums

  • They aint cheap, I bought the newest & largest capacity unit's they had. Those hold more dirt & run for longer on a single charge. Thet have smaller & even referbished units

  • Veggie with beef...is there another union way; shit, we always use beef up here BoY!!!? What the hell is rue (Ingredients)? Can't wait to see your soup tho! Did papercuts get his apron yet? Your care pack will be shipped out 2maro (hope your friends like pork rinds!)

  • Roux= flour & oil, Never use margerine

  • DAMN YOU ROCK!! I learned how to make Gumbo when I lived down dere in Gonzales (presently reside in Providence) but when I lived down there, I was taught by the best how to make shrimp creole, jambalaya, and gumbo. All my dishes were Cajun certified, but by looking at your gumbo, I bow before thee!!!

  • 90 deg outside and I am making my first gumbo this afternoon...last time I tried a roux I burned up my damn spatula! Using chicken thighs, jumbo shrimp, and some non-union sausage...
