The American Cancer Society along with the Club Cal Neva hosted the FIRST ANNUAL LA TOMATINA EN RENO - THE COUNTRY'S LARGEST FOOD FIGHT on Saturday, August 29, 2009. Reno Mayor Bob Cashell and Sparks Mayor Geno Martini participated in the big tomato fight.

And why are the tomatoes used not food grade? Nothing on any site states so and from what I've seen, the tomatoes look good and ripe like any other. Provide some proof that the tomatoes used were not rotten and I'll think differently.

The event used tomatoes that were not food grade (they could not be eaten). It was worked by volunteers, and 100% of the proceeds went to the American Cancer Society. So yes it was a GREAT cause. The only thing that keeps this country from being great is ill informed asshats like you that feel the need to piss on other peoples parade without knowing a damn thing on what they are talking about. Enjoy your miserable life idiot.
