This is the first song from the New York Sociey for Ethical Culture Concert organized by Jon Leichty, October 25th, 2009, a fund raiser for restoration of the Stained Glass Windows there.

This song describes Jane, the Librarian as someone "Looking Inside Each Eye" for the possibility of finding her other half. She's "the half that's a lesser sum of we two that match up to the letter. It's a single thing we become. he belongs to me, wait and see...."

"The Wake World" is a description from a short story by Aleister Crowley. http://www.hermetic.com/crowley/libers/lib95.html

I wrote this song in 1995 concurrent with writing the short novel, Mark of the Librarian.

A new edition with illustrations by Sam Moree is due out in the spring.
