@SpraysBlasphemy Actually, there are people who are quite "OC" about their sentence's gramatical structure. So it's not really "trying hard" but more like a "disorder." (In some cases.) Derp derp derp. :)

The problem is that not everyone is capable of switching from slinglish to proper english when necessary. it's not fair that outsiders will think that singaporean has poor enlgish ability because i know lots of singaproe could write better english than those laugh at singlish. However, do we need to teach our young ones to speak proper english? I do think so. it will be good for our image. But, like someone said that it's fun to use singlish in coffee shop and to socialize...

Fuck you Singaporean tryhards who type like that. All that proper punctuation and sentence structure... trolololol

You obviously do not get the point. Anyone who has studied English for a decent period of time can and will be capable of speaking it proper. That's regardless of race. And by the way, no one laughs at us for being normal. You come to our country, you adapt to our culture. We dont have to adapt to yours. We are being normal...in our own freaking damn country! Haha hope you get it now.

to all the foreigners dissing Singlish, face it, even in Britain where English supposedly came from, some of the people there speak with such dialect and accent that its nearly impossible to decipher what they are saying. And no one in Singapore uses perfect English much among fellow locals. Its just...weird. I mean, when the ah beng and his friends used perfect english, it sounds so unnatural. Why speak like that with fellow locals?
What's with the talking at the playground. LOL
