Here in England the social services are actually being criticised, the past few years, for NOT removing children who are in danger & then end up dead. There have been scandals where it came to light that teachers, neighbours, and sometimes children themselves have alerted but the Services prefer mostly to leave the children WITH their families and work with the abusive parents.

Far more kids are killed by their own parents than by strangers.
