Melting pure gold with a hydrogen torch (5200 F). The flame is not usually visible on camera, it is froma small hypodermic needle. The video was taken through a microscope.

  • what do you use for a table?

  • the "table" was a piece of steel. Can use anything non flammable.

  • is this wire about the same size of solder?

  • the wire was about the same size as solder wire.

  • no such thing as pure gold

  • this was 99.99% better than 24K (wiki at 99.9%)... That's about as pure as you get.

  • the solidified gold floating on the liquid gold is very neat to watch....this is pretty much I believe how the continents are moving around on the earth.
