Kimberley Rew was one of the first artist's that an old musical friend turned me on to many moons ago. I had never heard of him before, not that I knew at least. As a member of The Soft Boys from 1978-1981, co-founder of Katrina and the Waves and songwriter of their seminal hit Walking On Sunshine, Rew had quite a career going for him before releasing five albums worth of distinctive sounds from the Pop side of the rock continuum.
His latest album, The Safest Place, was released earlier this year. I haven't heard anything from it yet, but I'm sure I will. He also released an EP back in 2006 that's available as a free download on his web site.
Give a listen to Tart With The Heart from 2000's Tunnel Into Summer and let me know what you think!
cheers.
