http://www.survivalistboards.com/showthread.php?t=94671 This is an overview of the Berkey Light Water Filter from http://www.redbarnworkshop.com/

The berkey water filter works by using gravity to pull water through the filters. Each filter has a rating of about 3,000 gallons. With both units, the berkey light should be able to filter about 6,000 gallons of water.

Filtration rates can be affected by the quality of the water that is put into the unit.

  • Where did you get it and what did it end up costing you? How much are replacement filters, and do you believe it works well?

  • @veritasfiles - I got mine from Red Barn Workshop, a link to their site is in the video description.

  • The video is not working

  • @clarosse - works fine for me

  • I wish you would have run a demo so we could see it in action.

  • @biguy525 - that will probably be in the next video. I'am working on a water series of videos.

  • You know I agree with you. I originally signed up with his channel because I liked what he had to say and it was informative. I mean I don't mind product reviews and I understand that he may need to make money but don't turn into another "commercial" channel. We love ya for who ya are Kev. We miss the old days of goofy reviews tied in with real insightful wisdom. I will keep watching for a while as long as you give us your honest opinion on these products.

  • I think Kevin has done nothing more than review a product he received from a company who requested he reviews it in exchange for the price of the product or a discount. He never once claims he has used it or that he even likes the product, it is simply a REVIEW. And this isn't anything new.. Survivalistboards is turning into a commercialized infomercial channel, with every video being "sponsored" by a high end camping retailer.

I'd personally like to see Kev go back to the old days of survival

  • If its only 3000 gallons for each filter and they both go at the same time then it would be 3000 not 6000

  • When I first saw this I thought Oh, finally something affordable. I mean how much can a couple water jugs with holes drilled in them cost....

At 200 $s + for a couple water jugs with holes drilled in them I at least hope they offer free shipping. Wow.

  • does it filter the flouride too? how much r new filters?

  • I had mine since January, it came with the pf2 filters. I can finally drink tap water again!

  • Just got mine last night. LOVE IT!

  • I own this purifier and like it very much. Also ordered the pf2 filters that screw into the bottoms of the 2 main black filters. These remove flouride, arsenic, etc. Tap water tastes really bad now that I am use to drinking my water from the purifier.

  • Berkey and Ecoloblue Buy it Now at Mahaffeyiti(dot)com just take out the (dot) and put a .

  • No, this is a ceramic filter. It will filter out just about anything except viruses. This includes parasites and bacteria. Using this filter, you should be able to drink just about any water and feel pretty safe.

  • i think this is for filtering more like dirt and sand not bacteria

  • Just ordered one of these. No more forcing flouride on me!!! I'm going to send the bill to my local water company and force them to pay since they wont provide me clean water. NWO SCUM!!!
