Just another entry in my junk art journal for 2010

I got a little frustrated doing this one, painting on cereal boxes is a little different than canvas or card stock. I used some grey gesso that I got on sale, that was different. I also didn't think thru the process of transferring the image before I did the main background. ERG. I want to purchase some transfer paper that is off white thats made for art. I am still trying to perfect the whole alcohol drops thing too!

  • Just had to let you know I have already chopped up all of m cereal boxes, and started my first junk journal entry on a used mailing envelope base, with paper towels I have used when re-inking printer cartridges modeled into a lumpy textured background, which has morphed into flowers scupted out of the mush & weldbond. I glued little buttons into the middle last thing before I went to bed last night, and today I started to apply some watercolor over the top. drying then wherever it goes...

  • @franstuff - You must post pictures or a video or something. I want to see it! :D I'm glad that you have been inspired too! I'm really eager to see what you have done! :D

  • I am really enjoying your junk journal tutorials and entries. I love how spontaneous it all is, how you just make things you have work. I have a HUGE stack of cereal boxes....even bigger than my used file folders, and a BIG whacker, an adjustable 3 hole punch, lots of binder rings. I can STOP buying notebooks!!! I have so much art stuff, I don't need to ever buy another thing again if i learn to be more creative and watch youtube instead of boobtube!

  • @franstuff - I spend WAY more time watching art videos than TV these days. I find it less depressing too. LOL

  • yes yes loved it imensely!!

and the apron wasn't bad too!!

  • Thank you very much!

  • witht he alcohol drops, your paint has to be really wet, like a wash almost for it to work really well. perhaps give that a go and see if it works out better. love the workz!!!!

  • :D thanks

  • Thanks! I just love the kokopelli and this one has a little story in it, kind of a teacher / student or parent / child.
