We just drove the Alaskan highway last week from Dawson Creek to Tok. Make sure you have good tires and good shocks.Its like an amusement park ride. If driving to Anchorage from Tok you must have good brakes or you will die. No kidding

@Tm30w06 You just make sure you are prepared. When I make this trip, I carry spare belts, light bulbs, First Aid Kit, Food, water for me and the truck. Spare fuel cans, etc. If you travel in this kind of territory, you learn self-sufficiency for the most part.

If there is such a thing as a 1/2 hour youtube vacation...that was it ! Looks like alot of fun but wow also looks "Wicked Remote". I'm guessing cell phone coverage is completely out of the question so I'd love to know how anyone would handle any kind of urgent / emergent problem up there because that looks really really remote...but fun !

approx., the passage cars are twice or thrice an hour, and the interval of a gas station is 100km to 200km.
