Faded Memories Chapter 20

sorry this took so long! the last weekish has been crazyyy and i'm so tired and working and track adn life is just kgjdskgjsdkfgds. but yeah. sorry it took so long

recap: nick broke up with miley, but air chickened out breaking up with joe

We got upstairs and I sat at the counter. Nick quickly took the spot next to me, and I smiled. He smiled back, showing all his teeth. I almost melted. Thats one thing he can always do to make my heart drop to my stomach. I focused on my breakfast, a plate of giant waffles. They were amazing, not to my surprise. There wasnt one thing those boys couldnt do. They all laughed as I helped myself to my third waffle.

""Hungry much? Nick joked
"Yes, as a matter of fact I am" I said, turning to him and sticking my tongue out at him.
"Oh, real mature Air" he said, and I laughed

Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Joe, and he looked annoyed. No, annoyed wasnt quite the word to describe it. I think it was more of jealousy. I felt horrible, knowing I just chickened out breaking up with him, so I decided to stop flirting with Nick. I was still dating Joe. So I looked away from Nick and down to my waffles, embarrassed. I saw Nicks eyes flicker back and forth from Joe to me, and then he looked out the window of the house.

"So Kevin..." Nick started. "I have some news."
"Shoot" he replied
"...Well, due to circumstances...." his eyes flashed to me "Arianna is going to be coming back home with us. Do you think mom and dad will let her?"
"Of course! They love her and Im sure they want to see her again!"
"Good" he smiled. "I'll go call them now so we can get going" his eyes flashed to me again

Kevin looked back and forth between the two of us before returning a 'sure.' Nick left the room to call his parents, and I just went back to eating. I looked up at Joe, who was looking out the window.

"So.." I said casually. "Got any big plans for a new tour or anything?"
He looked over at me. "Uh I dont really know yet we'll probably go on tour again soon though"
"Thats cool"
"Yeah" he answered awkwardly.

Nick came in then and broke the silence that had formed between us.

"Hey. My parents said you could come home with us. They're really excited to see you again" he said, sensing the tension between Joe and I.
I half-smiled. "Thats great. I should go pack then, right?"
"Yeah. I'll come help"

I hopped up from the table and walked up the staircase with Nick right behind me. He followed me through the doorway and I closed to door behind him. I walked to my closet and grabbed my big rolling suitcase off the floor. I turned around and saw Nick sitting on my bed.

"Can you help me pack? Im gonna need the help." I smiled sheepishly
"Sure. What can I do?"
"Uh I guess just start emptying drawers onto my bed.' Ill decide what to pack."
"Ok.. So how'd it go with Joe?"
I didnt know what to say. So I just stood there facing the closet in silence
"Air?"
I turned around. "Nick, Im sorry. I just couldnt do it. I chickened out. Im so sorry. But I couldnt break his heart. I felt terrible just thinking it. I mean he just asked me out yesterday. I dont know what to do." I started to cry.
"Air, its ok. Im not pressuring you into this. You can do whatever you want. Just know I'll always be here for you, whatever you choose."
"Thanks Nick" I said, and walked over to him to give him a quick kiss.

But thats not what he was planning. And to tell you the truth, I wasnt really planning it either. Soon enough we were on my bed, making out. I finally pulled away.

"Im sorry.." I said, blushing
"Its ok. I didnt mind" he said, smirking
"Me neither" I admitted
He kissed me again. "Ok, time to pack."

I got up, walked over to the closet again, and started picking up clothes I wanted to take. Then I heard Nick clear his throat.

"Arianna?"
"Yeah?" I answered, turning around

And there he was, standing there with the box in his hand. Opened. He could see what was in it. Oh no.

*UH OHHHH. What's in the box that's got Air so worried? Only one way to find outt!! Comment!!
