This puppy took my breath away the first time I saw him. We lost him to an aggressive nasal cancer and miss him greatly. He was here but for a short time, but did wonders with him time here on earth.

  • Thank you Holly.

  • My Blue Heeler was diagnosed last Friday with Transitional Cell Carcinoma in his nose. Had a MRI yesterday and just received the radiologists report. Not good as he has a tumour in the left nasal cavity, left frontal sinus, and extends to the rear with complete destruction of the cribriform plate into the brain. Other than a stuffy nose he appears perfectly normal. Awaiting my vets consult with an oncologist surgeon as to treatment options. Anyone had success stopping or reducing this?

  • We noticed Sonny's tumor on Mar 6th. We managed his pain and he was lovingly put down Apr 11. In all it was a story of all the kings horses and all the kings men couldn't repair him. With all the treatments the quality of life Sonny knew wouldn't have been extended. I miss him greatly. This is the 3rd cancer I've experienced with great danes (the other two were bone cancers). Heart breaking each time. Remember your dog WILL LOVE YOU no matter which route you take in his care. God Bless You!

  • I feel your pain. It's so hard to lose a dane. They are such amazing dogs. I have 2 "In memory of" videos, and I'm working on 1, if you would like to view them.

  • Yes please send me the links to your memory videos. Making these videos really helps my grieving process.

  • penny, my deepest regret at the loss of such a beautiful dane. I know there are no words to fill the void in your heart. I am so very sorry.-Tammy white

  • Thanks Tammy. It was a shock to the soul to have to deal with cancer that was so swift in an otherwise totally happy & healthy dog. We miss him greatly, but are glad we had the chance to share our lives with him and he with us. ~Penny~

  • you can look at them on my page

  • I am so sorry for your loss of Sonny. Great danes are such spectacular animals. I don't think that they are ever considered to be a pet....they are members of the family. They are true gentle giants.

  • I know how you feel, I had a harlequin dane (160 lbs, pretty big girl) who lived for only 6 years. I always used to think people were over reacting when they mourned the loss of their dog, but once I got one and lost her, it was the worst loss of my life. Great Danes are just such loving dogs, they really are gentle giants. Check my videos, I just uploaded a clip of my new puppy I got on saturday

  • What a pretty dog, and so srry 4 ur loss

  • I am so sorry for your loss. He was so beautiful!I found your video when I found out my 6 year old fawn great dane has nasal cancer. I am just sick about it... & trying to find out if I should try radiation or if it is cruel. The oncologists said she would have 4-12 months with radiation treatment. Did you try radiation with Sonny? I hate to not fight for her, but I am not sure if I want to put her through radiation. Any thoughts are advise would be greatly appretiated. thank you
