Sitting in front of your computer thinking how awesome it would be if you could at least get up in the air for a few minutes and fly around the patch at Oshkosh? We feel ya — and that's why we strapped on some cameras for this bonus video, which gives you an aerial tour of the EAA AirVenture grounds.

  • I meant to comment earlier, sorry for the delay. The mount is a custom two-axis bolted to the strut. It holds the Xacti in a little cage to protect it from the slipstream. We designed a mount with a third axis but it was a little too heavy and we didn't have time to test it much. This was the first flight with the camera. Music? Personal taste, man. Engine noise gets boring.

  • Nice job! I just had my first visit ever to Oshkosh and found this video before going. Now I watch to enjoy the music too!

  • Very nice video, thanks.

  • you can make a vid on the construction of the customer strut mount

    ;-)

  • A-W-E-S-O-M-E VID !!!

    great choice of accompanying music

    many thanks !!!

  • Very well done!

  • I was there! I LOVED IT!!!!

  • Personally, I like the music... You might to want mix in a little engine noise in the background. Great video!

  • Geesh folks, I wish you all would please just leave OFF the music. To really "experience" this, you need to be able to hear the sound of the engines, like you would in the cockpit. I don't know very many pilots who listen to music while they're flying around the patch. The music is a distraction that takes away from the authentic feel that at least this vicarious flyer would like to find.

  • right idea. the camera should be adjustable for better filmography. music is not best choice. but its a great start.
