  • wish everyone would shut the hell up about mike turner.

OLP dont have a bad song, and I've talked to steve, and he's a lovely guy, and a far better guitarist than mike turner. mike couldn't really play that well, but that was his style. steve and mike have 2 different styles which have ultimitaly made the band a lot more versitile and varied,

    end of.

  • @IDanClarkI OLP doesn't have a bad song? Hmm, wish I could agree with you there!

  • @Slacktoo lol which song by them do you not like?

  • @sitstandnow There are a few over the years I'm not that fond of... Do You Like It, Made of Steel, Where Are You, Wipe That Smile Off Your Face, The World on a String, Walking in Circles, Never Get Over You, White Flags, The End is Where We Begin

  • any idea when this album is gonna be out?

  • @sitstandafterwards No concrete info. on the release date yet, but the band was initially hoping for summer 2011. Doubt that will happen now, but hopefully within the year.

  • Love the guitar in this song, and I hope the song really builds to a great climax in the end...... OLP's songs have been missing the build ups lately

  • This. Is. Awesome.

This is what I've wanted to hear from OLP for the longest time. They don't need to sound exactly like how they sounded 10 years ago, they just need to make good tunes.

This... actually sounds like the true evolution of Our Lady Peace. I'm very happy and thankful for this. Thanks for uploading this Slacktoo!

  • @IDanClarkI They have a few I don't care for, but I'll agree they don't have any poorly-written songs. And I'll agree Steve's a better guitarist, but that wasn't the appeal for Mike. He and Raine started OLP together, and Mike was one of the songwriters. I liked the songs he wrote better than songs Raine was in more control over. And that's really the appeal for me. I was sad to see him go, but I don't dislike Steve. It's just that Mike was the reason I started playing guitar.

  • @Slacktoo i quite liked the world on a string. it was the one really different song on that album that reminded me why i love this band. can't say i'm a fan of burn burn though (except paper moon, time bomb, and the right stuff). i hope this album is more rock and less adult contemporary corporate standardized programming, which i would call strike 2. lol

  • @CCubed1717 disagree.

  • @Slacktoo You're forgetting all the bad songs they wrote before Mazur joined the band. Hello Oskar, Shaking, and Story of 1,000 Aisles; not to mention that half of Naveed is utterly forgettable. Even the band doesn't like Hello Oskar!

  • @Slacktoo :P the only ones i'd have to disagree with you are DYLI,MOS,and WF.

I'm not too fond of Clumsy, In Repair and 4AM all horribly written shit songs.. ONLY KIDDING XD (actually they are in my top fav olp single songs!)

I'm not to fond of "Boy" "Apology" .. really wasn't crazy about HIPT.. it was ok.. some songs just didn't do it for me.. don't gemme wrong there were a few descent songs off there.. but i hope their 8th release is the best thing since Spiritual Machines :D

  • I'm proud of every album Our Lady Peace put out. All of them were so different which made them one of the few bands I never got tired of listening to. Do I like all of their songs? No, but I'm not going to conplain because the majority of them were so worth listening to.

But my favorite thing about this new album is that they are being so involved with their followers. And they are actually listening to their opinions which for a.) is really hard to do and b.) shows how much they care about us.

  • @robdabest02 I would love to know when the new album is coming out. I'm a huge OLP fan.

  • @sitstandafterwards Considering Raine delayed his second solo album twice for OLP stuff, I'm really hoping sometime soon.

  • @Slacktoo

Most of those songs are kinda meh for Our Lady Peace, although I do like them. But I LOVE Do You Like It. One of my favorites on Gravity.

  • @Slacktoo and I could say I could disagree with all of those except The World On A String... come on Slcktoo... you could say that, but you can't say every song from the first 4 are flawless either, in fact, far from :P
