And then there's the whole Brooklyn Dodgers nut-hugging fiasco which is just absurd IMO. Yeah make the outside of the stadium look like Ebbets Field and have a Jackie Robinson rotunda. Forget Seaver, Gooden, Piazza, or any guys who were actually Mets. Why should the Mets bother to finally have their own identity? Let's just kiss the BK Dodger's asses. A team that abandoned NY 50 years ago. Forget having our own original stadium. Why do that?
This ballpark is a major blow to Mets fans. 42,500 seats total, including standing room and luxury suites. Standing rooms take up about 2,000 of those seats. And I'm not exactly sure how many seats the luxury suites take, but that leaves Mets fans with roughly 38-39,000 total REGULAR seats. Which is a ridiculously small amount of seats if you ask me. More than 60% of the attendance at Shea last season had ABOVE 40,000 seats filled. Fans are getting robbed.
i too would have liked william a shea rotunda, but im sure within the years the mets will rename somwthing after shea
