  • Usually the faster a voice moves, like someone who can do coloratura and fast melismatic passages, the faster the vibrato. Renee Fleming has the capacity for fast movement. More lyric voices without the option of movement will generally have a slower vibrato. The health of a voice can be heard in the health of a vibrato, regardless of its speed. Fast doesn't necessarily mean better than slow, it really depends on the individual's voice and what its capabilities are.
