Released 2nd May 2010 under the Freedom Of Information Act (US) is this 1968 film of the underwater test launching of a Saturn V rocket.

At the time, the concept was to develop the Saturn V as an underwater ICBM to get around the 4-minute warning issue by travelling mostly under the Pacific Ocean before air-dispersal against targets in Eastern Soviet territories.

The entire moon program was a ruse to divert Russian resources away from ICBM developments such as this.
A highly secretive agenda, "hidden in plain sight".

The visual distortion at the start is just that, by way of massive hydrodynamic cavitational lensing as the water pressure is modified, creating an effect which dissipates once the rocket has passed.

However, in the latter half of the film can be seen the huge amounts of hydrostatic electricity generated by the launch stripping electrons away from the water molecules which effectively killed the programme as being unworkable after this very first test.

  • Is that Tangerine Dream doing the music?

  • @Nerol67 Music credit at the end.

  • Wow- perhaps "underwater" occurred to the poster because of the green tint at the end? Yes, clearly a regular Saturn, viewed upside down. Pretty cool!

  • @wbaiv

Just messin' with you guys to see how many folks fall for this kinda stuff :-)

  • This is not underwater. This is an upside down video of a Saturn V launch with some added special effects. Why the erroneous and misleading title?

  • @OUstrmchsr

To see how many people will just sit back and swallow what they are shown without question.

  • I watched this video at least 20 times because i always forget the title of music...

  • @chialeux514 - I will "FAIL" for using YouTube as a source for research? Fail is become the catch all word for youths today. Many videos are available on YouTube that can be accessed at home. Well Junior, in my time, (1970s) you had to go to a library and sign out a projector and set up a screen (think Tony Stark Iron Man 2) to see the film with no guarantee of finding anything. Add that to the limited resources of the library and this makes YouTube an excellent source of information.

  • @darkguardian1314 If you conduct Historical Research using YouTube, you WILL fail.

  • Booooooogus!!!!!!!

  • Shoot, you discovered that Saturn V rocket in my backyard swimming pool. I was hoping to keep it secret.

  • WHY CAN'T I HOLD ALL THIS TIN FOIL?

  • @1415w - jokes are fine but in this day and age of mobile broadband with data caps; it's costly. There are many things in the space program that were done for whatever reason like the Apollo capsule that can hold 5 astronauts. Things like theses are what makes researching history long and tedious.

  • hahaha i love this
