Installing floor trim at a door threshold may be what you need in order to finish off your project. There's plenty of "options" when it comes to what kind of floor trim to install at a door threshold. What kind of "attachment" is the best when it comes to installing the floor trim at a door threshold? I'll let "joe" tackle that question.......watch as "joe" shows you a few things when installing floor trim at a door threshold.
@jenzeppelin Jen, the reason your trim should not be attached directly to your flooring planks is because this will then not allow your flooring to expand & contract....that is, if you have a "floating floor" meaning not nailed or glued directly to the subfloor. Watch my video entitled "installing a threshold trim piece to a hardwood floor" & you will see what I mean. Watch that video & let me know if it helps. Thanks for your comments. Joe :0

@jenzeppelin Hi Jen. I'm glad I could show you a video clip to "remind" you to install the trim at your door thresholds. I'm a little concerned though, that the contractor installed your laminate flooring in such a way as to the pieces coming loose near your door thresholds...this should not happen since the laminate flooring "planks" should snap tightly together. When trim pieces are installed at the door thresholds, they should not be attahced directly to the flooring. Joe :0

Half of my rooms are missing this. A while back, I had laminate flooring put in and the workers never put these on. Because of it, sometimes the planks slide out of their grooves a couple of inches at the doorway and I have to slide them back in. There are a lot of little jobs like this around my house that I have unfortunately been ignoring too long, because they were merely aesthetic. It's high time I tackled a few. Thank you for reminding me! :) :) :)
