  • WTF??! The Northern Lights belongs to EARTH!

  • @Strande92 This "Battle for Aurora," is only a thrilling title invented by the media.

The Norwegians and the Finns both offer excellent conditions and a framework for the Northern Lights tourists

  • The resentment on the Norwegian side is also fueled by the fact that the Finns have already tried to claim Father Christmas for themselves, establishing a "Santa Claus Village" in the Arctic Circle city of Rovaniemi.

Perhaps the midnight sun could also be hijacked from the Norwegians," wrote Helsingin Sanomat in a tongue-in-cheek article. "The Norwegians could of course fight back with the ultimate weapon of mass distraction ... taking Santa Claus hostage. It could get ugly.

  • "We can not stand by and watch the Finns try to grab a bigger share" of the northern lights market, said Per-Arne Tuftin of Innovation Norway, a state-owned company that promotes tourism in Norway. "We will not give up -- the northern lights will be ours," he told the Troms&ostrok;-based newspaper Nordlys, whose name translates appropriately as Northern Lights.

  • Really?? U seriously believe anyone claims ownership? LOOOL

We claim the ambition to own the tourist markets association to the concept, like the Finnish now own the concept of Santa. Who previously were Norwegian...

And by the way: Måtte Al Jazeera brenne i hælvete for deres dekning av Libya og Syria.

  • @addikul No, its not.

From the English wikipedia: Scandinavia is a cultural, historical and ethno-linguistic region in northern Europe that includes the three kingdoms of Denmark, Norway and Sweden, characterized by their common ethno-cultural heritage and language.

Finland and Norway is both in Fennoscandia, witch is a geographic and geologic term used to describe the Scandinavian Peninsula, the Kola Peninsula, Karelia and Finland, but it's not as much used.

  • @addikul Well then that definition is wrong..

  • @Oddi92 In the english definition of scandinavia, it is.

  • In video description: Two Scandanavian countries

Just want to say that Finland is not in Scandinavia
