i know im kinda late.... but i think if you are a reviewer you should just give what ur opinion is because everyone things something sucks or they dont like it. for example you dont like serrations so if a knife had serration's for most of the knife and a small strait edge you probably wouldnt like it and i do really like that you give away most of your knifes.
thanks

i agree with Enduring Eagle as well. As a reviewer myself of gear, I give my honest opinion of the gear. I also have bought all of my gear so far with the exception of the most recent knife i reviewed, but i gave an honest opinion of it in my final thoughts and told about the flaws and changes that should be made.

EduringEagle said it best, ...”integrity and credibility.” I think that most of us are looking for reviews that show the strengths and weaknesses of the product, that are objective, independent, and unbiased. Without independence from a manufacturers influence (including free gear), trust becomes a big issue, and a review is of little value. Your very obvious honesty shows through in all of your videos and it is why, I for one, enjoy them so much. Keep them coming.

I think that the reviewer must give his/her personal opinion about the tested object at that point in time. With all the good and the bad points. The viewer must realise that it is an personal opinion from the person thats doing the review. Because there are various persons doing geartests on you tube, the viewer will find a reviewer that looks at things according to the demands of his/her own. You do not have to agree with the reviewer, but it can be intresting to have another point of view.
I just emailed another "reviewer" the other day because I suspected the a piece of gear that person covered was something they would have never used had they not been given it for free by the company. They ended up doing a positive review on something I think they would never have bought in the first place. Basically, I agree with 3charter. Sounds like good standards.

I think at the end of the day it comes down to integrity and credibility. The product should not be "provided" free of charge by a vendor as that is tantamount to bribery. Technical specs, comparison to other like products in a category, price point and an honest review are what people want to hear. If it is a good product, we want to know why. If it is not, then we want to know why as well as what products do it better and cheaper. Honesty and integrity have been you hallmarks .Please keep it up.

Best reviews (YT and mags) are always divorced from the companies. Pro-mags do it like you: they return gear. You are awesome. I wish, however, that if you hated some thing, you'd still review it. Neg reviews are valuable as well, as warnings and for better design. I like how you spend a lot of time testing - and I like that you do follow-ups.

@mrmonkeyman50, if it is something that is flying off the shelf and I think is junk I will let you know. I don't want any of you guys going out there with sub-par gear. But there is so much good gear to bring you guys quality information about to keep me busy. I not scared to be honest about anything I review. Thanks for the support, it always appreciated!
