This video demonstrates an Ambilight-like RGB-LED-Driver that is controlled by a XBox with a SmartXX V3 Modchip running XBMC. The LEDs used are IKEA Dioder RGB-LEDs. Thanks to doctormord@modcontrol for helping me out, wiring the Dioders up to my SmartXX ;)

I have one SmartXX V3 too, and ever asked how to use the RGB Add-On.
This is some nice usefull thing you built there.
But I have to say, it is only Ambilight V1.0, because there are the same colours on every site. Havent you tried to seperate them via an integrated controller on the board? Like one channel of rgb for each site, than just one for all?

I got the ikea dioders aswell, on the back of my TV and a xbox with XBMC, though softmodded.
Could this be done with a PC aswell? I nowadays start using XBMC more on the PC because of the HD material.

Hi
I have an xbox and a smart xx and i have tried to use ambilight6.patch. I have tried to apply it to xbmc source code but it doesn't seemls to work with Atlantis nore Babylon version. Which version of xbmc are you using ?

also see my mail: a SVN version from mid 2008 will work. Don't know right now when it broke.

thx! for a brief howto see the info of this video - theres a link supplying you with all the info you need to build this thing. Though, it will work only on Xbox as it is "married" to the SmartXX modchip.
