The Gravity Field and Steady-State Ocean Circulation Explorer (GOCE; pronounced "go-chay") will measure the Earth's gravity field and model the geoid with extremely high accuracy and spatial resolution. It is scheduled for launch in 2008.
The geoid, defined by the Earth's gravity field, is a surface of equal gravitational potential. It follows a hypothetical ocean surface at rest (in the absence of tides and currents). A precise model of the Earth's geoid is crucial for deriving accurate measurements of ocean circulation, sea-level change and terrestrial ice dynamics -- all of which are affected by climate change.

This video was made by ESA, so I do not know where the music came from.. I'm sorry. For the videos I make I usually get music from myfreemusic com

With so many nations now reaching into space, and the thought that moons, planets, solar systems, galaxies and the universe does not belong to any one nation.. how long before we unite to form the Global Space Agency? When will we unite as Earthlings? Will we have to wait until there is an alien race to confront?
