Istanbul Ataturk Airport (IST) is Istanbul’s major international airport located in Yeşilköy, on the European side of the city. It is about 24 km (15 min) west of the city centre. The airport gets its name from Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder and the first president of the Republic of Turkey. With 28.5 million passengers coming through this airport in 2008, it ranks among the 50 busiest airports in the world. Istanbul Ataturk Airport is Europe's 10th busiest airport. Visitors to this city have several options to get to and from Atatürk International Airport and the city center. There is a light rail service going to Aksaray from Atatürk International Airport which passes through major areas of the city and takes about 30–35 minutes. This and the municipal bus are some of the cheaper options costing less than a euro one way. There is also an airport shuttle service.

Istanbul Airport nice! I stayed there between flights to Addis Ababa I wish they had a few more places were you can have a quick sleep. Schiphol is full of them looking forward to going back.
