@stydel311,
If you look at the back side of the blade you'll see two silver springs. these springs are attached to the blade itself and also to the support frame. This safety feature is called "Blade Trip" so you could essentially nail a curb at normal plowing speeds the blade will fold forward when it hits an object it cannot push. once you back up the blade will spring back into position ready for another pass.
