  • Well, sorry, you're right. very broken and mispronounced Yiddish, and it's not Chad Gadya at all, it's about an apple that will not fall. My apologies.

  • Broken maybe. But this has been a family tradition for over 60 years. And passed on gen to gen. Leave it be, would ya.

  • Ahem. I have no idea what language this is, but most DEFINITELY NOT Yiddish.

  • Ahem, yourself. It is.

  • Not Chad Gadya really but the concept is there and the family, including the Bubbie and that's what I remember and what is important.

  • Gary, that's youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!

    How did I find you?

All my love to all of you,

    Gita

  • @Nov633

    yeah jinglish D sounds horrible

  • This is definetly Yiddish, perhaps not always pronounced correctly. One example. The Yiddish word for apple is epl. sounds just like English, but with and eh sound in front. And it is very similar to Khad Gadya, except for the The goat part!

  • chad gadiya, chad gadiya, dizabin abba bitrey zuzei :)
