This J-Pin assembly is basically an anti-sway device and also a device to lock down your ball mount for security purposes. We'll take it apart and show you how it works. You put the key on there and give it a turn and it pops out and comes apart like so. Then you take this nut which comes off also, and this gets installed. As you can see, it goes through the hitch pin hole and then this has to go into a hole that's been punched into the receiver hitch itself. This hole combination is really specific to Draw-Tite hitches only, so this would really only work on Draw-Tite hitches of recent manufacture in the last couple years. Once you have your pin installed, put the nut back on and the kit does provide a wrench for it so we can give it a good snug. What happens is it keeps it from rattling around anymore. Pop the lock into place, push the button and you're good to go. There you have it, that's for part # 63201, the J-Pin Stabilizing Lock from Tow Ready.
