@KhagarBalugrak He is on my top 10 list and I'm sure I don't stand alone on that. Believe it or not, people are not so easily influenced by lists that critics make.

@RhaegarTargaryen1884, Liszt has never made the Top 10 with any critic or institution I've ever seen. Probably Hungarian schools would be the only institutions to elevate him into the Top 10. Rachmaninov of course doesn't even make the Top 30 in many lists I've seen. At the college I was at - Mannes - German and Austrian music is considered to be thousands of times better than that of any other nationality. And I don't think things are any different elsewhere. But I hope you're right.

@KhagarBalugrak Franz Liszt wasn't German. In 100 years or so Rachmaninov will have the prestigious equivalence of Beethoven and Mozart, It has nothing to do with Nationality.

Yeah, I love that he does not "complement" his beautiful, soulful music by exaggerated movements. (...like some other pianists do)
