@particle58 I did not say they were successful I mentioned them as examples of societies that were Socialist and not centrally planned. Good one though?

@CommunistCritic Command and Control is the same thing as Central Planning. Juche is Marxism, read Kim Jong Il's "On the Juche Idea". All marxist philosophies share similar core values, but not all are exact replica's of one another as they are influenced by the culture and society that institutes them. You mentioned 3 'successful' socialist enterprises, that I actually laughed out loud at. You have a very limited understanding of the philosophy you seem to be in love with.
-
@particle58 You are thinking of a Centrally planned economy. These are not strictly Marxist. You see them in everyday corporate life with the Board of Directors as the Central Committee and CEO as dictator.
Many successful Socialist enterprises have not been top-down, research Anarchist Catalonia or the Soviet Democracy before Lenin. Also look up the Free Territory of Ukraine.

@particle58 Juche is not Marxism. Please go read some Marxian theory before you say the isolationist policies of racial superiority are Marxist.
BTW not all Communist systems have a single party, and in addition corporations and rich individuals under Fascism skyrocket. There are indeed "individual rights". If those are your parameters for Communism I guess most Capitalist countries are "Communist". As I can't think of one that doesn't put limits on private property, or use coercion.

@CommunistCritic The idea that communism is the liberation of the proletariat is RIDICULOUS. Sure, Marx may have said that in his essays, but in practice that is not the case at all. Marxism is really the enslavement of the proletariat. It requires a command and control economy with a powerful central government, that determines what is to be made, who is to make it, where it is to be made, and how it is to be distributed. All at the expense of the proletariat's labor.

@CommunistCritic I graduated champ. If you reread my post I described Juche. Its marxism with a strong sense of Korean nationalism. Thats why I compared it to fascism. I did not say they were one in the same. I simply meant that Communism and Fascism are similar because both are COLLECTIVIST and STATIST. Both are single party systems, both regard individual rights as meaningless, both put limits on property rights, and both require cooperation through coersion.
-
@particle58 It is called Juche, dumbass.
"all communism has an element of fascism."
Communism, the liberation of the Proletariat. Fascism, the totalitarian power of the nationally and racially imposed state. Stay in school buddy.
-
@CommunistCritic What would you call their form of government? Totalitarian Collectivism? They ARE marxist, its just another strain of marxism with a nationalist flavor to it, devoted to serving Koreans first and foremost. Its almost fascist, but all communism has an element of fascism to it, since both are collectivist, statist, ideologies.
-
@jacintobandito Democratic People's Republic...indeed usually means affiliation with some sort of collectivism. Which I am not saying that North Korea is *not* collectivist. They are. They are, however, not Marxist Leninist/Communist.
He was so ronery...
