This is James Waterson's "Grand Quartet" for three soprano clarinets and one bass clarinet as performed by the Clarinet Quartet of the UCI Fall Chamber Class of 2006.

This is a fun piece to play with friends who are interested in techinical and choir type arrangements.

Special Thanks to Colin, Max, and Andy for working hard and meeting as often as we did!

  • the bass clarinet sounds nice

    very good work

  • Well you know, I wrote my first concerto at age 7 and went on to master twelve different instruments at age nine before writing my first symphony at age twelve. So basically when high school rolled around I was too busy arranging music for the band to actually be section leader. I did give the band director a few lessons in my spare time, though.

  • No Alto Clarinet

  • oh dannnnnng,

    that was COOL!

    (:

  • Nice one guys!

  • what kind of bass clarinet is that???

ohh btw. awesome X's 99999 (i want to play this next year)

  • you had to practise more! but the piece is very good but your sound is like a beginner who has been playing for 3or 4 years!

  • yes i know that ... did i sound incompetant...

i was commenting on the size of the key signature in reguards to playing ability...

  • yes you can change the keys and the song is essentially the same, but not at the same pitch. has to do with what pitch the composer wants.

  • WHAT!?! That is the dumbest thing i have ever heard!!! i was a sophmore when i became a section leader!! now i'm a junior and i have two other juniors and two seniors, a sophmore and i freshman! the way it suppose to go is the person with the most responsibility and is pretty much the best should be the section leader.
